Reviewer Guide
Manuscripts received in GOTONG ROYONG: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Multi Disiplin Ilmu will be reviewed by at least two reviewers using a double-blind peer review system, supplemented by comments from the editor. Authors must revise their manuscripts based on feedback from the reviewers and editors. The editorial team will then process the manuscript for further publication. The review process can be described separately as follows:
Manuscript Submission:
Authors submit manuscripts online through the Open Journal System (OJS). Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by editors for suitability to scope, style, and plagiarism.
Editorial Office Assessment:
Editors assess the suitability of manuscripts for this journal, ensuring that they align with the journal's focus and scope. They also check whether the manuscript meets the journal's guidelines and evaluate its quality. Plagiarism is checked using Turnitin.
Assessment by the Editor-in-Chief:
The editor-in-chief determines whether the manuscript is appropriate, original, interesting, and significant enough to be published. If not, the manuscript may be rejected at this stage.
Invitation to Reviewers:
The handling editor invites suitable reviewers based on their expertise and research interests. Reviewers are selected objectively, and their identities remain anonymous to the authors.
Response to Invitations:
Potential reviewers consider the invitation, their expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They either accept or decline the invitation. If they decline, the editor may request suggestions for alternative reviewers.
Review Process:
Reviewers read the manuscript several times, form initial impressions, and provide detailed, point-by-point reviews. They recommend acceptance, rejection, or revision.
Evaluation of Reviews by the Journal:
The editor-in-chief and the handling editor consider all reviews, and if there are divergent opinions, additional reviewers may be invited to provide additional opinions.
Decision Informed:
The editor emails the decision to the author, along with comments from relevant reviewers. Reviewer comments are communicated anonymously. Reviewers are also notified of the decision.
Final Steps:
If accepted, the manuscript will undergo copy-editing. If rejected or revisions are requested, the handling editor will utilize the reviewers' constructive comments to help the author improve the manuscript. The author revises the manuscript based on these comments and resubmits it. Once the editor is satisfied with the revisions, the manuscript is accepted and published online.
The peer review process assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts through feedback and suggestions.
